The Lassie Radio Show

Lassie, was broadcast from 1947 to 1950, first on the ABC radio network, then on NBC. Each week Lassie played a different dog in different situations in 15 minute stories. Cast: Lassie, Earl Keen, animal imitator, announcer Charles Lyon. Marvin Miller and Betty Arnold had regular roles. Sponsored by Red Heart dog food.

In 1973, a cartoon version of Lassie began airing called Lassie's Rescue Rangers

 

 

Lassie TV Show

The original Lassie series began in 1954 with The Miller Family- original cast members Tommy Rettig (Jeff), Jan Clayton (Mom) and George Cleveland (Gramps). During this time Lassie won the Emmy in 1955 for Best Childrens Program. The following year in 1956 Lassie won Best Children's Series and a Peabody Award.

In 1957 Tommy Rettig left the show and the family was replaced by the Martin Family- original cast members Jon Provost (Timmy), Cloris Leachman (Ruth Martin) and Jon Sheppold (Paul Martin).

One year later in 1958 the roles of Ruth and Paul Martin were taken over by June Lockhart and Hugh Reilly. The original Lassie series ran for 17 seasons on CBS at 7PM on Sunday nights.

In 1964 Lassie then began the Ranger years, followed by the years Lassie was on her own. The Ranger years were the first to be broadcast in color

In 1989 The New Lassie started in syndication with the Holden Family

In 1997 The Cinar Lassie Series started airing on Animal Planet with the Corbett Family

Lassie Pet Vet

Lassie's Pet Vet Began airing on PBS in the summer of 2007
